The Upcoming National Bank Holiday: What it means for your merchants in Australia and New Zealand
Australia : Key Dates
As you likely know, a new once-off National Bank Holiday has been announced for the 22 September.
Due to the nature of this once-off public holiday, merchants will likely experience some delays in payment processing. This delay will impact most banks, financial institutions and payment processors within the local market.
For Payrix partners, its important to know that payment submissions received on this date will be held over and processed on Friday the 23rd of September. Client settlements due to be settled on 22nd September will also be held over and settled on Friday the 23rd September.
If your customers are operating out of a Victorian bank account they may also be impacted by late rejections due to the public holiday (grand final day) on Friday the 23rd of September in Victoria.
New Zealand: Key Dates
New Zealand has also declared a National Bank Holiday on Monday the 26th September. Banks in New Zealand will not be processing on this day, meaning New Zealand merchants may also experience delays with your payments.
For Payrix partners, it’s important to know that payment submissions received on the 26th September will be held over and processed on Tuesday the 27th of September. Client settlements due to be settled on 26th of September will also be held over and settled on Tuesday the 27th of September.
